What is it: the name Biancomangiare is due to the white color of its main ingredient: ground Almonds. This antique recipe, which has probably Arab origins, has become typical for some of the Italian Regions and appears several times in history. Pellegrino Artusi cites it in his volume “La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiar bene” (Science in Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well). Matilde di Canossa decided to serve a Biancomangiare, at her famous banquet in 1077, organized to bring back peace between Pope George VII and the Emperor Henry IV, and it was served at the rich wedding banquet of Maria de’ Medici and Henry IV of France. Our chocolate bar wants to give a tribute to this specialty. Re-creating this antique recipe for our Biancomangiare we use only the best Almonds from Toritto, cultivar “Filippo Cea”, paired with Single Origin Cocoa Butter from Ecuador. Realizing, together with the other precious ingredients, an exquisite specialty that delights with its innovative flavor. Ingredients: 48% min. Cacao. Organic cacao butter, organic peeled almond, organic cane sugar, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, fleur de sel from Bali, organic lemon oil. May contain traces of milk and other nuts.
Notes: the ancient tradition of “Biancomangiare”, reproduced as a tasty bar where the sweetness of the almonds meets the lemon for a fresh vegan delight. Certification: organic.
