Feitoria do Cacao was born as a result of the experience gained by Tomoko Suga and Sue Tavares during an extraordinary trip to São Tomé and Principe where they explored the roots of cacao by visiting plantations and meeting the producersdirectly.
They thus discovered a world of passionate people dedicated to their work, far removed from the sweet, rich image of chocolate. Awareness of the economic disparity between farmers and chocolate producers shaped their mission: to reduce this inequality.
